How to Redeem Roblox Codes: Where the Code Box Is and Why a Code Fails
By the Game Codes editorial team ·
Almost every popular Roblox game hands out codes, but no two games put the code box in the same place, and many of them have a hidden requirement that makes a perfectly valid code fail. This guide collects what we have learned from checking codes for dozens of Roblox games: where to look for the code box, the requirements that trip players up, and what to check before you decide a code is dead.
Everything here comes from the games we cover and the redeem steps we have checked for each of them, so every example links to the page where you can find that game's current codes.
Roblox codes are made by each game, not by Roblox
The codes on this site are created by the developers of individual Roblox games, which Roblox calls experiences. A code for one game only works in that game. If you paste a Tower Defense Simulator code into Cameraman Tower Defense, it will fail, even though both are tower defense games, because each developer keeps their own list.
That is also why the code box looks different everywhere. There is no shared Roblox menu for game codes: each developer builds their own button and their own rules. Roblox itself has separate promo codes for avatar items, which are redeemed on Roblox's website rather than inside a game, and those are a different system from everything on this site.
Where the code box usually is
After checking the redeem steps for every game we list, the code box almost always lives in one of four places:
- A Codes button on the side of the screen. Huss Valley puts it inside the MENU on the left, and Survive a Million Monkeys has a CODES button in the top right corner of the lobby.
- Inside Settings. In Kukirin Life you open the Menu, click the gear icon and then the Codes tab, and YBA works the same way from the three-line menu in the bottom right.
- Inside a profile or inventory window. Anime Vanguards hides the purple Codes button on the left side of the Profile window.
- A small icon in the lobby. Tower Defense Simulator uses an icon marked ABX in the top right corner, which many new players never notice.
A few games put codes somewhere physical in the world instead: in Anime Adventures you walk to the CODES area near spawn and step into a blue circle. If you cannot find a button, check each game's page on this site: the redeem steps are written for that game's actual screen, not copied from a template.
Requirements that block a valid code
The most frustrating failure is a code that is valid but rejected because you have not met a condition. The game rarely explains this, so it looks exactly like an expired code. These are the requirements we see most often:
- Joining a group. Kukirin Life only accepts codes after you join the Mukbang Lovers group, and Morioh High and Shigaku have similar group rules. Join with the same account you play on.
- Finishing the tutorial. Survive a Million Monkeys keeps the Codes button locked until the tutorial is done.
- Reaching a level. In Anime Vanguards, Assault and SummerLeaving need level 10 and AnniNextHopefully needs level 30.
- Reaching a prestige. The current YBA code needs Prestige 1, which means reaching the level cap and prestiging once.
- Owning something first. Tower Defense Simulator skin codes only work if you already own the tower the skin is for.
- Account age. One guide reports that YBA codes do not work on Roblox accounts younger than seven days.
If a code fails right after you join a game, it is worth playing for a few minutes and trying again before giving up on it.
Capital letters, numbers and spaces
Most Roblox games treat codes as case sensitive, so Anime Vanguards will reject 2NDANNIVERSARY when the real code is 2ndAnniversary, and Huss Valley's tuesdaysRock has to keep its lowercase letters. Codes also love swapping letters for numbers: Kukirin Life's KUK1L1F3 and CR4TE use the digits 1 and 4, which are easy to type as I and A.
The safest habit is to copy the code instead of typing it. Every code on this site has a Copy button for that reason. When you paste, watch for a space before or after the code, because many code boxes treat that space as part of the code. If you are on a phone, long-press the code box and use paste rather than the keyboard's suggestions, which sometimes change capital letters.
Old servers and new codes
Roblox games run on many servers at once, and when a developer releases an update, the servers that were already running often keep the old version until they close. A brand new code that arrived with the update may only work on the new version.
If a code was released in the last few hours and fails, leave the game and join a fresh server, then try again. Several of the games we cover list this as the first fix for a new code, and it costs nothing to try.
A checklist for when a code does not work
Work through these in order before deciding a code is dead:
- Is it the right game? Check the game's title and creator, because similar names are common: Kukirin Life is not Drive A Kukirin!, and YBA is not A Bizarre Run.
- Did you paste it exactly, with no extra space?
- Have you met the group, tutorial, level or ownership requirement?
- Have you already redeemed it? Almost every code works once per account.
- Are you on a fresh server after an update?
- Is it on the game's expired list? Each page on this site keeps one.
If all six check out and the code still fails, it has most likely expired. You can tell us with the Feedback button on the page, and we check it again.
What the rewards are actually for
It is worth knowing what a reward does before you spend it, because the same word means different things in different games:
- Cash or coins usually buy upgrades. In Kukirin Life, cash buys faster scooters and parts, while in Huss Valley, Coins only buy one-match consumables such as a Banana Peel or a Rescue Kit.
- Gems are often the permanent currency. Huss Valley Gems unlock abilities for good, and Survive a Million Monkeys Gems unlock classes, starting with the Medic at 15,000.
- Rerolls and shards feed the gacha side of anime games. Anime Vanguards codes give Trait Rerolls, Rerolls and Memoria Shards for improving the units you already have.
- Items can be rarer than they look. The YBA Halloween code gives a Lucky Arrow, which the official YBA Trello describes as an exceptionally rare spawn with better Stand odds than a normal arrow.
Boosts, such as Huss Valley's 15 minute double coin and gem boosts, start the moment you redeem them, so redeem those right before you play rather than in an empty lobby.
Where new codes come from
Developers usually release codes with updates, when a game hits a like or visit milestone, or for holidays. Milestone codes often have the number in their name, such as Survive a Million Monkeys' 25MVISITS, and update codes are often named after the update.
The first place a code appears is usually the game's own Discord server or its Roblox description. Some developers put a code straight into the description, as Tower Defense Simulator did with 2MILLION and Survive a Million Monkeys did with MONKEYS. Each of our game pages links to the official Discord when we have confirmed the invite works, and lists the date we last checked the codes.
