Most Pokemon GO codes come with a stated end date, so the expired list is easy to check. These are the end dates Leek Duck recorded for the codes that ran through 2026:

The two GO Fest 2026 community codes, FBLYVRG5QJKE6 and 62EGDH625ABMP, gave Link Charges and Poke Balls after the community hit check-in and RSVP goals in July, and the Unown Timed Research codes have also ended. If a site still lists any of these as active, it has not been updated.

There is no fixed schedule. Niantic's help center says it offers a limited supply of one-time use codes in conjunction with special events or sponsored partnerships, and that is exactly what the recent codes look like: fashion collaborations with adidas and FENDI, a LEGO partnership, Major League Baseball, the World Championships in San Francisco, an episode of the Pokemon Horizons anime and community goals during GO Fest.

Leek Duck links several of these codes to the official Pokemon GO announcements, and those announcements state the end date, which is why the dates in the table above are exact. That is why the best time to look for new Pokemon GO promo codes is during a big event or right after a brand collaboration is announced.

Some codes do not give an item straight away but unlock Timed Research, a short set of tasks in the game. The Horizons code from September, for example, unlocked research that rewarded an encounter with Charmander wearing Friede's goggles, 35 Poke Balls, 5 Razz Berries, 10,000 XP and 5,000 Stardust. After redeeming, open the research list in the game, where the new Timed Research appears, and complete the tasks. The deadline usually covers the tasks too: for the LEGO cap research, the tasks had to be finished and the rewards claimed before September 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. local time.

Every real Pokemon GO code gives avatar items, items for your bag or Timed Research. None of them gives PokeCoins, and none gives a Pokemon directly; Timed Research codes give an encounter you still have to complete. Any site that promises free coins, asks for your password or wants you to install something first is not giving you a real code.

Only redeem on the official Web Store. Its address is store.pokemongo.com, and you sign in with the same login you use in the game. Never type your login into a page on any other domain, even if it looks like the Pokemon GO store.

Pokemon GO is the location-based Pokemon game for phones. You explore the world around you to find and catch Pokemon, walk with a Buddy Pokemon to earn rewards, battle at Gyms and team up with other Trainers in Raid Battles. It launched in July 2016, and the App Store listing describes it as downloaded over 1 billion times.

The game was created by Niantic. In 2025 Scopely completed its purchase of Niantic's games business, so the App Store now lists Scopely as the publisher, but the Web Store, the code system and the official news page work the same way as before.

If the Web Store rejects a code, check these first:

• Expired: most codes end within weeks, and the end date is often in the original announcement.
• Capitals: codes like ADIDASxPOKEMON mix capitals with a lowercase x, so paste them instead of typing.
• Already used: each code works once per account.
• Wrong login: sign in with the account you actually play on, not a second account.
• Region: some partner codes give different rewards by country. The LEGO cap research, for example, gave other rewards in regions where LEGO Pokemon sets are not sold.

We check Pokemon GO promo codes by hand. A code goes into the main table only when at least two independent sources agree on it, or when it comes straight from the official game description or rules. Codes that only one source reports, or that sources disagree on, are kept in a separate unconfirmed table, so you can still try them without mistaking them for confirmed codes. A code moves to the expired list once it is reported as no longer working.
